New LP "Simple" reviewed by D.L Owens
A few years back, I had the pleasure of discovering the music of Alfred Gomez Jr on ReverbNation. His duet with the another talented Venezuelan singer/songwriter Vel France brightens my day whenever I hear it, and was enough for me to contact both of these wonderfully talented artists on Facebook. Not only are they both gifted singer/songwriters, they are also wonderful people that are doing something that love.
Earlier this year, I had the privilege of receiving a preview of Alfred Gomez Jr’s newest album Simple. It contains eleven soul/pop tracks that show his talent for singing and songwriting whilst also introducing the lovely Julio Fowler. Each song can stand alone, but I find that once I press play this is this wonderful compulsion to listen to the rest as well. Very few albums make me smile as much as I do whenever I listen to Simple. Even the sadder compositions have an element of hope to them, suggesting that life goes on and that pain doesn’t have to define the rest of our lives.
You can purchase digital copies of Simple by Alfred Gomez Jr via iTunes, CD Baby, Bandcamp, Spotify, and wherever good music is sold online.
